• Small-Scale Mining: Technology Transfer and Poverty Reduction (collaborative research work with Miningtek, Council for Scientific and lndustrial Research-CSIR).
• Mineral Assessment in the Giyani Greenstone Belt for small-scale mining, Limpopo Province (collaboration with Limpopo Economic Enterprise-NPDC, Wits University).
• A comprehensive study of environmental degradation of Nzhelele-Makhado area and development of integrated environmental management models (school-wide project).
• Collaborative Research work with Pulles Howard and De Lange.
  • Evaluation and validation of Geochegfmical prediction techniques for underground coal mines in the Witbank/Highveld region.

• Development of an appropriate procedure for closure of deep underground gold mines.
• Classification of Manganese containing wastes;
• Development of water balances for pollution prediction from gold mine waste residue deposits.
• Tyre Dump Rehabilitation Project at Grootegeluk Mine.
• Geology and Mineralisation in the Potgietersrus platinum deposit (Joint project with School of Geoscience, Wits University).
