| International Relations Office
Internationalisation has become a high priority in contemporary South African higher education. UNIVEN has responded by including this critical objective in its strategic plan. One of the core means to achieve this strategic objective is the establishment of the International Relations Office.
On 1 May 2010 the co-ordinator of the new International Relations Office, Mr. Cornelius Hagenmeier, was appointed. Mr. Hagenmeier is a lecturer in the School of Law. Hagenmeier explains that the new International Relations Office will ultimately provide a first port of call both for UNIVEN staff members and students engaging in international missions as well as foreign visitors to UNIVEN.
The first tasks of the newly appointed International Relations Office Coordinator will include contributing to the development of UNIVEN’s institutional international relations strategy and establishing an appropriate operational framework for the new International Relations Office.
The new office will collaborate with all stakeholders at UNIVEN to grow, nurture and develop international linkages and partnerships. To Coordinator, who intends to operate an open door policy, hopes that the International Relations Office will be able to assist all UNIVEN staff members and students in their international activities.
