Department of Criminal and Procedural Law

Ms van der Walt  was a prosecutor in the High Court of South Africa in Thohoyandou before joining the academic world in 2001. She started her academic career at the North-West University where she taught Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure Law & Constitutional Litigation.  She joined the University of Venda in 2006 and is currently teaching Criminal Law & Criminal Procedure Law.     Ms van der Walt also taught Criminal Procedure at the Practical Legal School of the Law Society in Potchefstroom as well as at Justice Centres nationwide.  She has various national & international publications in the field of Criminal- and Criminal Procedure Law.
