Univen collaborates with University of Virginia
Researchers and students from the University of Virginia and Univen
A team of researchers and students from the University of Virginia (UVA) are currently visiting Univen. This team arrived on 23 May and they will stay until 20 August 2010. The UVA team will be working with Univen researchers and students in different community projects namely the Water and Health project in Limpopo (WHIL project), the Mal-Ed project, the Ceramic Filter project and other community based development projects. Fifteen students from the UVA will be working together with 19 Univen students in these projects. The students already held orientation workshops for these projects at the Univen Library Hall. They focused on the ethics of community engagement. This was also a team building exercise which enabled the students from both universities to get to know each other and share backgrounds and cultures before they start with the projects.
