Council of the University of Venda
Council is the University’s highest governance structure, bringing together internal and external stakeholders to provide strategic oversight and accountability.
The 2025–2029 Council draws members from University leadership, Senate, academic and professional staff, students, Convocation and external stakeholders. Its composition is intended to balance institutional knowledge with independent expertise and professional experience.
Council provides governance oversight across the University and works with executive leadership to support sound administration, financial stewardship, institutional sustainability and the strategic direction of UNIVEN.
