VISION AND MISSION STATEMENT
In line with the University’s mission and vision
statements, the Department of Communication and Applied Language
Studies is guided by the following vision and mission:
Vision
To be the hub of media, communication and journalism research and to offer cutting edge training in development
– oriented media, communication and journalism programmes in southern Africa.
Mission
The Department of Communication and Applied Language Studies offers a wide range of globally recognized, developmentally
-oriented media, communication and journalism programmes at both undergraduate and
postgraduate levels using modern methods of instruction.
