Bringing with him a decade of experience within the higher education sector, Mr Lebogang Mokaze joins the University of Venda with a strong passion for leveraging events as a strategic platform for brand communication, stakeholder engagement, and institutional visibility. His appointment, eff ective from 01 June 2026, reinforces UNIVEN’s commitment to delivering impactful events that showcase the University’s achievements, values, and aspirations.
Prior to joining UNIVEN, Mokaze served as Assistant Director of Eventing and Amenities at the University of Limpopo, where he successfully coordinated a wide range of institutional events and forged meaningful partnerships across private, public, and commercial sectors. His extensive experience has equipped him with a deep understanding of stakeholder relations and the role of events in advancing organisational goals.
Driven by institutional values and a commitment to excellence, Mokaze views events as powerful tools for fostering institutional pride, celebrating heritage, and strengthening brand identity. Throughout his career, he has successfully planned and executed diverse events, including academic conferences, seminars, webinars, colloquiums, dialogues, brand activations, and large-scale ceremonial functions.
In his new role as the Senior Events Co-Ordinator, Mokaze aims to contribute meaningfully to the University’s strategic objectives by delivering professional, innovative, and memorable events that align with UNIVEN’s vision and mission. His expertise is expected to further enhance the University’s reputation and strengthen engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
Academically, Mokaze holds a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Media Studies and a Postgraduate Diploma in Science Communication, both conferred by the University of Limpopo. His academic background, coupled with his practical experience, positions him well to drive excellence in events management at UNIVEN.
Expressing his excitement about joining the institution, Mokaze said: “It is with great enthusiasm that I become part of this progressive institution committed to creating future leaders. I look forward to collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders, united by the spirit of ubuntu and shared purpose, to make a positive diff erence in the lives of students, staff , and the local and global communities served by the University of Venda.”
