Enrolled under the Department of Biochemistry and Microbiology, Ditshephisho faced the rigorous demands of the programme with a firm resolve. Like many students transitioning from high school to university, he found his first year particularly challenging. However, he rose to the occasion by implementing a consistent study routine that instilled both structure and discipline into his academic life.
“Adjusting to the academic workload was difficult at first, but I learned to manage my time and stay committed to my goals,” he shared. More than just practical discipline, Ditshephisho attributes his success to his unwavering faith. “I have anchored my academic journey on my faith in Christ Jesus, trusting God for strength and wisdom, especially in moments where I felt overwhelmed.”
Throughout his studies, Ditshephisho embraced a holistic approach to success, balancing academ-ic work, spiritual life, and leadership. He served as a Choir Leader at Christ Tabernacle, a Christian fellowship on campus. “Putting God first brought balance to everything else. I planned my time carefully, balancing studies, rest, rehearsals, and fellowship. I believe that when you commit your plans to God, He gives you wisdom to manage it all.”
Ditshephisho’s academic success, he emphasises, is not merely the result of intelligence but of grace, discipline, and divine guidance. He stayed organised, set both short- and long-term goals, and consistently aimed to understand his coursework deeply rather than relying on rote memori-sation.
“My motivation stems from my faith and a deep sense of purpose. I believe that God placed me on this journey for a reason, and I want to honour Him by doing my best,” he reflected.
Now pursuing his lifelong dream of becoming a medical doctor, Ditshephisho is currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) programme at the University of Pre-toria. This transition marks the next chapter in a journey rooted in service, perseverance, and a calling to impact lives through healthcare.
To those still navigating their academic journeys, he offers this heartfelt advice: “Invite God into your life and your studies. Do not isolate yourself but reach out to friends, tutors, and lecturers. Stay disciplined, ask for help when needed, and take care of your spiritual and mental well-being. Even if you fall, do not give up. With faith, hard work, and support, you can rise again.”
Ditshephisho Mamabolo is not only a graduate but a testimony of what is possible when one walks with purpose, prioritises discipline, and places their trust in God.
