Applications for the DSI-NRF Postgraduate Students Funding (Master’s and

Doctoral) for 2027 are now open. All postgraduate students will be expected

to apply via the NRF Connect System using the following link:

https://nrfconnect.nrf.ac.za/. The closing date for submission of

applications is 03 July 2026.

Who Should Apply:

New and continuing Master’s and Doctoral students

Application Periods

Master’s: 16 April – 3 July 2026

Doctoral: 16 April – 3 July 2026

Master’s & Doctoral Extension Support: 16 April – 14 August 2026

All prospective applicants are invited to join a virtual

Microsoft Teams briefing session for guidance on

the application process. The sessions are

8 May 2026 (Friday): 10h00 – 12h00

14 May 2026 (Thursday): 10h00 – 12h00
