THE 1ST HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT PAPER DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP AT HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE-HRMIC (First Round)

Purpose
To advance and promote Moi University’s objective, “to preserve, create, and disseminate knowledge, conserve, and develop scientific, technological, and cultural heritage through quality teaching and research”, the PDW aims to publish papers at AJOBE that provide insights into management and practices in organizations in Kenya and throughout the world, as well as to help develop management models or theories based on evidence. Moi University and the University of Venda will co-host the first Paper Development Workshop at Moi University’s Annex, Town Campus in Eldoret, Kenya, during the first HRMIC 2025 conference.
Contents
The workshop will be divided into three parts.
First, Professor Bex Hewett, Associate Editor, HRMR and Executive Committee,HR Division of AOM, will introduce the basic information about the AOM Paper Development Workshop (PDW) and publishing at the HRMR.
Second, Professor Elaine Farndale, keynote of the HRMIC and major panelist at the PDW, who has served as Co-Editor-in-Chief for Human Resource Management Journal, Co-Editor for Routledge’s Global HRM Series and Associate Editor for Human Resource Management and International Journal of Human Resource Management and AOM,will provide details about the PDW, including the submission process.
Finally, senior editors and reviewers from the universities both regionally and internationally will offer detailed guidance and feedback to help the graduate students and authors improve the papers.
We encourage, especially PhD, Master’s Students, and young scholars to submit papers and actively participate in thePDW. To ensure that each accepted submission receives detailed feedback and can be further improved, the PDW plans to accept good papers and/or detailed research proposals. The papers you submitted to the HRMIC conference can also be submitted to this PDW. Moi University plans to provide a fast review process for submissions accepted at this conference and after a rigorous review publish them in the African Journal of Business and Economics (AJOBE).
Paper Submission Guidelines
We welcome any submission that falls within the scope of Human Resource Management and Cross-cutting. Submissions are welcome in research areas such as human resource management, strategic management, organizational behaviour, health and entrepreneurship, international business, technology and innovation, marketing, economics, procurement and logistics, finance and accounting among others.
Please submit your full paper or detailed research proposal to https://hrmic.mu.ac.ke or email Dr. Stanley Kipsang (hrmic@mu.ac.ke) the subject “Submission forMoi University PDW at HRMIC” by 20th March 2025. The conference will make the acceptance decision before 1st April 2025.
Submission Requirements Submissions can be either a full paper or a detailed research proposal. The language of the submission should be English.

For full papers, please prepare your manuscript following the APA Author Submission Guidelines outlined below:
(2) Detailed research proposal
- Proposals should not exceed 5,000 words and should include research questions, a brief and relevant literature review, disciplinary perspectives for the study and other relevant parts if necessary; for quantitative research, it should also include hypotheses, targeted sample, planned measures and analysis.
- Proposal submissions should include a timeline to complete the project and a short version (no more than five pages).
