During the week from 05-09 May 2025, the University of Venda (UNIVEN) in partnership with the Careers Exhibition and Information Association (CEIA) held the Careers Exhibition that brought together over 17 500 Grade 12 learners from 160 schools across the Vhembe East District. The expo aimed to equip students with crucial information about tertiary education, application processes, and admission requirements well in advance of their high school completion, while fostering a positive social mindset for future success. This Careers Exhibition was held at UNIVEN Auditorium.

The team of exhibitors comprised Universities, Universities of Technology, Technical Colleges, Colleges, Private Sectors, Parastatals, and Public Sector Departments, including funding institutions.
These schools came from the following Circuits: Malamulele Central; Siba-sa; Malamulele South; Malamulele East; Malamulele North-East; Luvu-vhu; Malamulele West; Mutshundudi; Tshinane; Vhumbedzi; Dzindi; Mvu-di; Vhuronga 1; Mudaswali; Niani East; Niani West; Sambandou; and Tshilamba.

Mr Justice Lebopa who is the CEIA Chairperson described this Careers Exhibition as key in assisting learners in this region to access Institutions of Higher Learning. He said learn-ers were able to interact with exhibitors from various institutions where clarity seek-ing questions regarding various career opportunities and bursaries available in those in-stitutions and what Admission Point Scores are needed if one wants to enrol for certain qualifications. Mr Lebopa believes that all learners were equipped with necessary informa-tion that will assist them to know what is expected from them for better opportunities in 2026.

After getting information from exhibitors, learners were taken to ICT 2 to apply for the 2026 enrolment. They were also assisted on how to apply. Mulweli Nemutanzhela, a learner from Tshivhase Secondary School said he was hap-py that there were people who were assisting learners to apply for 2026 enrolment.


Mr Takalani Tshilenge from Muhanelwa Secondary School said he was happy because learners were afforded enough time to ask ques-tions and were also assisted to apply for admission in the year 2026.
