The University of Venda will be represented on the International Education Association of South Africa (IEASA) council following the successful nomination and election of Mr Thabo Dikgale, who received widespread support from across numerous institutions of higher learning. The election of two candidates to serve on the council from the General Membership took place from Wednesday, 29 October 2025, to Tuesday, 4 November 2025.

The recent election of Mr Thabo Dikgale to IEASA will advance the university’s strategic thrust to strengthen its local, regional, and international profile and visibility, creating opportunities for academics and students to participate in internationalisation activities.

IEASA is one of the biggest platforms for universities in South Africa to respond to international education trends, challenges, and opportunities.
