Since Monday, 03 May 2021, the University of Venda (UNIVEN) Customary Law Lecturer, Ms Zama Mopai participated in national television interviews on the interplay between customary marriages and civil marriage in polygamous households. Ms Zama Mopai first featured on Newzroom Afrika channel 405 on Monday afternoon at13:30, and again on Wednesday, 05 May and Thursday, 06 May 2020, on the SABC Morning Live programme that was aired on both SABC 2 and SABC News Channel 404 between 07:30am and 08:00am. During the interview, Ms Mopai provided clarity on the challenges emanating from Civil and Customary Marriages especially Polygamous Households. Ms Mopai also participated in several mainstream media platforms discussing similar topic as a Customary Law Expert, putting the University name on the map. 

Dean of School of Law, Prof Lonias Ndlovu said he is proud to have colleagues like Ms Mopai who are always hands on. He said, Ms Mopai is always ready to display a good image of the University. Prof Ndlovu encouraged other colleagues who are experts in any field to grab similar opportunities when it presents itself. 

UNIVEN Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Dr Bernard Nthambeleni commended Ms Mopai for representing the University well during these relay interviews.
