Mr Cornelius Hagenmeier sharing his inputs to add value to the workshop

Director Internationalisation Office at the University of the Free State, Mr Cornelius Hagenmeier, said that institutions must set their own targets for the internationalisation. He added that they should include targets in their Annual Performance Plans that are submitted to the Department of Higher Education and Training. Mr Hagenmeier is the former Director of International Relations and IMPALA Coordinator at Univen. “Financing and accountability is the major challenge for equitable access and quality of higher education in South Africa. This results from lack of funding framework for relevant capacity development,” said Mr Hagenmeier.” He expressed that, this may make it difficult for institutions which are still at the early stages of the process of internationalisation.
