On Monday, 07 January 2019, the University of Venda (Univen) commenced with the admission and registration processes for first time entering students. Univen has received over 22 000 applications but will only be admitting 3 100 students for the academic year 2019. Due to the large number of applications received for 2019, no late applications or walk-ins will be entertained.

Thabang Ralefatana (20) from Ga-Sekgopo village was admittend for Bachelor of Social Work. He said that he is admitted and was on his way to register. Thabang explained the admission and registration processes as being fast and quicker only for those who applied on time. He advised those who are in matric this year that they should not wait for their matric results to be available before applying for admission.

“If you start running around seeking for admission after receiving your matric results, the chances of being admitted will be very limited. The possibility of staying at home and doing nothing is very high for those who did not apply”, said Thabang.
