Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) like hypertension, diabetes, and cardiovascular conditions are on the rise globally—and South Africa’s rural communities are no exception. This groundbreaking study investigates the prevalence and risk factors for NCDs in Vhembe District, Limpopo, through a household screening program and in-depth stakeholder engagement. Led by Dr. Gudani Mukoma and supported by a multidisciplinary team, the research aims to bridge data gaps, raise awareness, and develop actionable strategies for better health outcomes.
