The GIS Certificate Course is an introductory course to the theory and practice of a Geographic Information System. The aim of the course is to in- troduce students, researchers, surveyors, town planners, Local government authorities, farmers, health practitioners and NGOs to computer assisted spatial analysis and decision making. The GIS Certificate Course is presented in a 5-day block training fashion. This is a competence-based course and as such candidates are expected to do both theoretical and practical exams during the last
REQUIREMENTS
All applicants should be proficient in a Microsoft Windows environment, and should also be familiar with applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel is helpful, but is not a prerequisite. In order to apply for the course, no formal tertiary education is required
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Application to attend the course must reach the course co-ordinator at least two weeks prior to com- mencement of the course, accompanied by the full amount. Application must be made on the official enrolment form. Contact the Environmental Unit with all your enquiries regarding the course
