The University of Venda (UNIVEN) is implementing its strategic plan, 2021-2025, aiming to reposition itself for local relevance and enhanced societal impact whilst ensuring that it is globally competitive. In its quest to contribute to these strategic imperatives, on 8 December 2021 the Institute for Rural Development (IRD) facilitated the historic signing of memoranda of understanding with Madonsi, Manenzhe, Masia, Njhakanjhaka, Sinthumule and Tshivhase Traditional Councils in Vhembe District. The next step is to develop plans for operationalizing the MoUs. Thus, a joint planning workshop involving representatives of the six Traditional Authorities, a UNIVEN implementation team which the IRD leads and relevant stakeholders, has been scheduled as follows:

Date : 18 January 2022
Time : 09:00-13:00
Venue : Research Conference Centre, University of Venda
Slogan : Taking the university to its rightful owners
