The ITS Integrator User Group (ITSIUG) recently held a Conference to award organisations for their services. This conference took place at the Cape Town Century City Conference Centre. The 2022 theme of the conference was‘Harvesting Digital Technologies in Higher Education: Adapting to the New Normal’. With this theme delegates shared their experiences on the way they had to adapt to the new normal due to COVID-19 pandemic. Delegates also shared the way COVID-19 took them out of their comfort zone and forced them to harvest technology effectively and optimally in order to support their students and internal stakeholders.

The University of Venda team from ICT, Finance, Human Resources, Student Affairs, IPQA and Academic Administration were amongst the delegates who attended this conference.

 

The University of Venda as one of the institutions which have been using the ITS system for many years, was awarded the 30 years of service award. The award was accepted by the Head: Business Systems, Ms. Tebogo Thantsa on behalf of the University. Ms Thantsa was an EXCO member for ITSIUG during the 2021- 2022 term and now she has been elected as the Vice-Chairperson of the ITSIUG.

During this conference, delegates from institutions of higher learning in Africa, Ireland and New Zealand who are using the ITS system assembled to network, benchmark and share best practices on how technology can be harvested and add value to institutions of higher learning.
