The University of Venda’s Department of Business Information Systems under the School of Management Sciences attended the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 2018 Open Innovations Conference at the University of Witwatersrand, Braamfontein, Johannesburg. The conference took place from 03-05 October 2018. The University of Venda delegation was led by Prof Nixon Muganda Ochara, the School of Management Sciences Research Professor who was also the Chair of this first International Conference on Open Innovations themed ‘Re-Creating Society through ‘Disruptive’ Digital Innovations”’. Close to 100 delegates took part in the conference with representation from the following countries: South Africa, Namibia, USA, Sudan, Malawi, Zambia, Kenya, Angola, Nigeria and Zimbabwe.
