Ms. Nemutandani is a lecturer in the Department of Social Work in the Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences and Education (FHSSE). She has 11 years of teaching experience. She worked for the Department of Social Development as a generic social worker before joining the university. Her major focus areas in teaching and learning is field work practice with specialised focus in community work and sustainable community development; and community engagement. Through her students she has assisted several communities with initiating poverty alleviation projects and ensuring its sustainability in the Thulamela Municipality. Her responsibilities also include supervision of under- graduate and most recently master’s students. Her research interest is in sustainable community development; Children and families, Indigenous knowledge systems and WIL. Ms. Nemutandani’s contribution to scholarship has been through research projects, presentations at various settings including conferences (national and international) and by publications include:
