UNIVEN Football Clubs (Male and Female) will compete during the University Sport South Africa (USSA) Football tournament at Wits University from 24-29 November 2025 and the University of Pretoria from 30 November – 6 December 2025.
UNIVEN Male Football Club will be competing under Group B of Section B, seeking to get promotion to play under the A-Section, which is comprised of the best-performing teams, of which the Top 8 teams qualify to play the Varsity Football Cup. The team will compete against the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, University of Cape Town, Rhodes University and Independent Institute of Education
UNIVEN Ladies Football Club, for the first time in the history of the University of Venda, competed during the 2025 Varsity Football Cup that was televised on the national Super Sport TV between 04-08 September 2025. For the upcoming USSA tournament at the University of Pretoria, the team will compete in Group B of Section A, aiming to requalify for the 2026 Varsity Football Cup by securing a top-eight position. The team will compete against the North-West University (Potchefstroom Campus), Cape Peninsula University of Technology and University of Limpopo.
