About Us

Overview

This department was established last year in 2015. It is a young department with a potential of growing. Currently, Curriculum Studies department has two staff members and is in the process of employing two more staff members: a lecturer and a senior lecturer.

Mission

The mission of the Department of Curriculum Studies is to prepare both student teachers and qualified ones to become leading professional and practicing educators, through quality teaching and learning, educational research and disseminating knowledge that is relevant to the educational needs of the local, national, regional and also the international or global community.

Vision

To be a leading university department in the field of Curriculum Studies that produces dynamic, innovative and professional and practicing educators and researchers who are responsive to the local, national, regional and global educational needs.

Community Engagement

Members of this department have been working closely with other departments and institutes like the Institute of Rural Development (IRD) on their School Food Garden (SFG). This project assists schools around Sibasa circuit to develop gardens to provide their own vegetables and the sell any surplus to their communities.
