Centre for Higher Education Teaching and Learning

The University of Venda’s Centre for Higher Education Teaching and Learning (CHETL) was introduced in 2010 for the promotion of quality teaching and learning. This Centre is comprised of three discrete but interconnected units. The Academic Development Unit (ADU), the Student Counselling and Career Development Unit (SCCDU) and the Disability Unit (DU).

The Academic Development Unit houses the following subunits:

  • Academic support
  • Student support
  • E-learning support to both staff and students in the use of the learning management system.
  • Career-focused Education.

The Student Counselling and Career Development Unit on the other hand is responsible for providing emotional and psychological support to students.

The Disability Unit is responsible for providing support to students with disability.

The three Units in CHETL work in an integrated manner to enhance the student learning experience that a UNIVEN student deserves. With the help of academics and other responsible personnel in the institution, the Centre takes responsibility of ensuring that students receive the best services they deserve.
