UNIVEN Experimental Farm

Faculty of Science, Engineering and Agriculture

The Univen experimental farm is situated within campus. The main objective of the experimental farm is to give support to the faculty of Science, Engineering and Agriculture. The Experimental farm provides practical training and research facilities for staff, students and for community outreach. The farm consists of 26 ha. Part of the land still needs to developed. 

The farms are currently active in the following areas which offer students opportunities for training, transfer skills and research:

  • Poultry production

Farm has broiler and layer houses for students, practical and for income generation

  • Piggery unit
  • Piggery houses are used for research purposes and for income generation. Animal science students are able to do demonstrations during teaching
  • Beef and small stock feedlot
  • Beef and Goats feedlot are where animals are kept for fattening, income generation, student’s demonstration and research purposes
